About the Program

Who is this program for?
The Summer Peer Health Leadership Institute is open to rising 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. It's designed for students who want to deepen their understanding of health, relationships, and leadership — and learn how to show up for their peers. No prior experience is needed; an open mind and a willingness to engage are all that's required.
Is this program open to students from outside the Bay Area?
Yes! We welcome students from outside the Bay Area. All accommodations, food, and transportation must be organized by and at the cost of the participant's family. We also ask that students traveling from out of the area be accompanied by a parent or guardian during their stay.
Will there be any follow-up or community after the program ends?
Yes — families and students will receive a wrap-up communication following the program. We're also exploring ways to maintain connection beyond the week itself, and will share more as those plans develop.

Registration

How do I register?
You can register directly on the Summer Program page using the enrollment form. If you have questions before registering, feel free to contact us first.
What if a session is full?
If a session reaches capacity, we maintain a waitlist. Spots are offered to waitlisted families in the order they registered, so signing up early gives you the best chance of securing a place if a spot opens.

During the Program

What should my student bring each day?
We'll send a detailed packing and preparation list to registered families before the program begins. Stay tuned!
Is lunch or food provided?
Food is not provided by the program. Students should bring their own lunch and any snacks they need for the day. If your student has dietary restrictions or allergies, we'll ask about those during the registration process so we can be aware.
Can my student have their phone?
Students may bring their phones for emergency use, but phones won't be actively used during program hours. We find that limiting screens helps create a more present and connected group experience.
What if my student needs to miss a day or leave the program early?
This program is holistic and conversation-based — each day builds on the last, and the discussions that happen in the room are difficult to replicate in a summary or catch-up document. Missing any part of it risks gaps that are hard to fill after the fact. That said, we understand that life happens. If something comes up, please reach out to [email protected] to discuss your situation.
Is transportation provided?
Transportation is not provided. Families are responsible for arranging drop-off and pick-up to and from the program location each day.
Can parents observe or attend?
The program is designed as a student-only space. Much of what makes it meaningful is the candid, peer-to-peer conversation that happens when students feel free to speak openly — and that dynamic depends on the space belonging to them. We deeply appreciate parents' interest and investment in the program, and we'll keep families informed through communications before and after the week. But to protect the environment we're working to create for students, we ask that the program hours remain student-only.
